Which macOS versions are supported?
AI Notes Taker requires macOS 14.0 Sonoma or later.
Does a bot join my calls?
No. AI Notes Taker captures system audio natively on your Mac. No bot joins your call, and no one knows you're recording. It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, Teams, or any other app.
Do I need an account to use the app?
No. Download and start using it immediately — no sign-up required. An account is only needed if you subscribe to Pro.
Privacy & Security
Is my audio sent to the cloud?
No. Transcription is performed entirely on your device using WhisperKit. Your audio never leaves your Mac. The only cloud communication happens when Pro users request an AI summary — the transcript text (not audio) is sent securely for processing.
Where are my recordings and transcripts stored?
All recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your Mac. Nothing is synced to external servers. Each recording stays attached to its transcript, so you can always go back and listen to the original audio.

What is the Dictionary feature?
The Dictionary lets you add words that Whisper often misspells — names, technical terms, acronyms. Variants are auto-corrected in transcripts and fed as context to improve recognition. Free users get up to 5 words; Pro users get unlimited.
What are Shortcuts?
Shortcuts are spoken phrases that expand to specific text. For example, say "my email" and it becomes your actual email address in the transcript. Free users get up to 5 shortcuts; Pro users get unlimited.
How do auto-formatted lists work?
When you say sequences like "first, second, third", AI Notes Taker automatically converts them into clean numbered lists in your transcript.

What does Pro include?
Pro ($4.99/month) adds AI-powered summaries that extract key points, action items, and decisions from your transcripts. It also unlocks unlimited dictionary words and unlimited shortcuts.
How do I subscribe to Pro?
Subscribe at ko-fi.com/ainotestaker. You'll receive a license key via email. Open AI Notes Taker, go to Settings → Pro License, paste your key, and activate.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime through your Ko-fi account. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of the billing period.
Can I use my license on multiple devices?
A Pro license is active for a single device. If you need to move your license to a different Mac, contact support@aitranscript.app and we'll reassign it for you.
I lost my license key. How do I get it back?
Open AI Notes Taker, go to Settings, and use the "Retrieve license key" option. Enter the email you used for the subscription and your key will be sent to you.
